A How to Guide to Luscious Lips

New Years Eve is coming and you know what happens at midnight right?  Well, usually you kiss your date, loved one, or friend right?  Or, at least you hope to.  Good thing you are reading this blog because this time we are going to give you tips on how to care for your rosy red lips.  With the help of Ginger Papp, ESSpa’s make-up artist/esthetician, and a Marie Claire make-up book, we have created a list of secrets for you on how to get those luscious lips.

  1. Just like your skin, your lips need a little exfoliation too.  Try to reserve a soft toothbrush to buff away dead skin cells.
  2. Apply a rich and creamy lip balm fairly generously for several minutes.  After those minutes are over, swab away excess with a cotton square or tissue.
  3. You can apply a lip liner but just make sure it is lighter than your lipstick color.  If you have a paler complexion, use nude tones that actually make your lips look fuller and plumper.
  4. Coat both sides of a small tip lip brush and start applying your favorite shade of lipstick starting in the corners and moving to the center of your lips.
  5. If you want a three-dimensional look, apply a dot of clear lip gloss in the center of your lips.  Or bring it all together for an all over shine and spread the lip gloss over your entire lip.  This will create a sexy and sultry look to any ordinary lipstick.

It is also important to know that if you use a more defined and prominent eye shadow, go for a natural lip color.  If you use a natural eye shadow, you can pull off a brighter hue of lip color.
